Rusty Mott was born and raised in Spurger, TX. After graduating from Spurger High School in 2004, he attended Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in Communication. In 2008, he graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. In 2011, after three years at B.H. Carroll Theological Institute, Rusty completed his Master of Arts in Theology with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry.
Rusty accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior as a 3rd grade student through the ministry of Vacation Bible School. In high school, he served as the Minister of Music for First Baptist Church in Spurger. Upon graduating high school, he served as Youth Minister at Memorial Baptist Church in Corsicana, TX. It was in those early years of ministry that Rusty was called by God to preach the Gospel. While attending Dallas Baptist University, he served as the Minister of Music at Freeman heights Baptist Church in Garland, TX. Over the next 6 years, his responsibilities moved to include preaching, teaching, and leading a young adult ministry. In 2010, he became an Associate Pastor at Freeman Heights. On November 5, 2011, Rusty married his wife, Mallory, who graduated from Kountze High School in 2008.
Rusty enjoys playing golf, watching baseball, and reading. He is passionate about seeing people transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rusty has been serving as Pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church since February 2013.
